Life Lessons With a Real Life Cowboy
Senior Fireside Chats Episode 7
Today’s guest is Michael “Mike” Crow, who has been team roping for nearly 35-40 years. Today he’s sharing with us what life lessons roping has taught him, in addition to giving advice for those from younger generations.
These are the three main questions asked in the video:
- How did you get into team roping and how long have you been doing it?
- What principles has team roping taught you that you might carry over into other life situations?
- What advice would you give to young people who are getting ready to go out into the world on their own?
One of the key things I took away from this episode personally was Mike’s point on learning from the mistakes of others.
A smart man learns from his mistakes. A wise man learns from the mistakes of others.
Since I was little, my dad has been drilling into me the importance of not learning life lessons the hard way. I mean why bother? At least one person out there has already learned it the hard way for you, all you have to do is just sit back and be thankful.
Anyways, let us know if you want to learn more about roping, or have any additional questions for Mike.
