Varsity High School Volleyball
Hi, I hope you’re doing well! I wanted to share a big part of my life: volleyball. I’ve been playing for about 7 years now, and I am going into my last season in high school. This picture is from last season when we played Archbishop Mitty High School, who is known for their stellar volleyball program. We won in 3-2 sets, since we played best of 5 sets in high school. It was a really close game in some of the sets, but our team pulled through and took the win.
Speaking of last season, it was honestly my favorite volleyball team I’ve ever been part of. We were undefeated in our league, and beat some really tough opponents. We also made it to the semifinals in all of NorCal. I think our team just gelled together super well and by the end of the season, we played like a well-oiled machine.
I’m super excited for my senior season. I’ve been on varsity since my freshman year, so it’s crazy to think this will be my last time wearing the school’s uniform. Since coronavirus is still a very real issue, the season has been pushed back to December, so hopefully by that time it’ll be safer to play. In the meantime, we might have a sand season. Sand volleyball is a little different than indoor, for starters it’s on a sand court and there are only 2 people on each side, instead of 6, so it’s easier to social distance. However, it does help your indoor game, so hopefully playing beach before my indoor season will just make me a stronger player.
